I am so grateful to have found my niche in the professional and academic world of cognitive diversity. I feel that everything that I have done so far has led me to the point where I can use my years of knowledge, passions about psychology and education, and love of social science and research.
At 60, I started this program for two reasons:
To enjoy learning about cognitive diversity and to go on a long passion run going down and through these rabbit holes.
To map the rest of my life working in a field where I feel that I have been and can make a positive impact for the rest of my working years.
I had heard about Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity through several of my friends who started the doctoral program. I was incredibly jealous. My friend Carol would say that it is where all of the cool kids go. For me, it was a natural extension of my work teaching math to cognitively diverse learners as well as my volunteer work as President of Gifted Homeschoolers Forum (GHF) and my previous time on the board of Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG).
At Bridges Graduate School, I have found my people who share my passion and love for the people and topics that we all share in studying cognitive diversity. In the space, I will be using it as a journal and as a way to share new concepts and processes that could be helpful. I hope to continue this space long passed the time the I complete this program. Wish me luck!
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
